On our first day of filming we set up our performance area for In Blue Skies. We did this by using the equipment in our drama studio to create a wall and then we covered this in black velvet (as we knew this absorbed light well), this created out back drop. We also covered the floor in black material to give the set consistency.
We then set up our camera equipment to see how the set looked on screen and also to adjust the lighting. To do this two of our group members stood in front of the cameras to make sure that they were not over exposed by the bright lighting and when the band arrived we would be prepared.
Once the band arrived they began setting up their equipment where we wanted them to, according to our story board. For example, we had specific band members standing in certain places on our story board and this is how we wanted them to appear.
To get our filming done as quickly and efficiently as possible we made a performance shot list and numbered each shot. Pairs of numbers meant that these two shots would be filmed at the same time in order to speed up the process of filming. As we continued we'd cross of the shots we had already done and move onto the next pair.
